Let’s Talk Jaw Pain, Clicking, Popping, and Grinding: TMJ Relief with Chiropractic Care
Jaw pain is more common than most people think. Clicking, popping, grinding, or tension in your jaw may seem like something you just have to live with — but these symptoms are not normal. In fact, they’re often signs of an underlying issue involving the jaw, spine, muscles, and nervous system.
At Camarata Chiropractic & Wellness, we’ve developed a specialized Jaw Pain Protocol that is providing patients in the Rochester, NY region with fast and lasting relief.
What Is TMJ Dysfunction?
TMJ stands for temporomandibular joint, which connects your jaw to your skull. This joint is responsible for movements like chewing, speaking, and yawning. TMJ dysfunction occurs when the joint becomes misaligned, inflamed, or restricted, often due to poor posture, clenching, grinding (bruxism), injury, or muscular imbalances in the head, neck, and shoulders.
Common TMJ Symptoms Include:
-
Clicking or popping sounds when opening or closing the mouth
-
Jaw pain or tenderness
-
Difficulty chewing or opening the mouth fully
-
Headaches or migraines
-
Ear pain or pressure
-
Neck and shoulder tension
-
Facial pain or fatigue
