The Daily Deposit Method by Dr Sam Camarata

Have you ever felt like you were doing everything right…yet suddenly your progress slowed down?
Maybe you’ve been consistent with your chiropractic care. You were feeling better, moving better, sleeping better, or performing better—and then it seemed like you hit a plateau.
One of the first questions I want you to ask yourself is:
“What does my health account look like right now?”
Because your health works a lot like a bank account.
Life makes withdrawals. You make deposits.
And that simple idea is the foundation of what I call The Daily Deposit Method.
At Camarata Chiropractic & Wellness, we have said it for years:
HEALTH IS WEALTH.
But wealth isn’t usually built with one giant deposit.
It’s built through small, intentional investments made consistently over time.
Your health is no different.
Your Body Is Designed to Adapt
Stress gets a bad reputation.
But not all stress is bad.
Exercise is a stressor. Strength training is a stressor. Learning something new can be stressful. Challenging yourself physically and mentally creates stress.
The stress response itself is a normal physiological response that helps us meet challenges. The problem is when stress becomes persistent and recovery doesn't keep pace. Chronic stress can contribute to problems involving sleep, digestion, headaches and overall well-being.
So our goal shouldn't be:
“How do I eliminate every stressor from my life?”
That's impossible.
Instead, ask:
“How can I build a stronger, healthier and more adaptable body and nervous system so I can better handle the demands of life?”
That changes the conversation completely.
We stop chasing a perfectly stress-free life and start building capacity, adaptability and resilience.
The 3 T's: Where Are Your Withdrawals Coming From?
I frequently teach patients about the 3 T's of stress:
1. Physical Stress
Training. Sitting. Repetitive movements. Old injuries. Poor ergonomics. Lack of movement. Overtraining. Under-recovery. Physical work.
Some physical stress is beneficial.
But your body still needs the resources to recover from it.
2. Chemical Stress
Nutrition. Hydration. Alcohol. Food sensitivities. Environmental exposures. Gut health. Nutrient deficiencies. Metabolic health. Hormonal health.
What you put into your body—and what your body is exposed to—matters.
3. Emotional Stress
Work. Finances. Relationships. Deadlines. Parenting. Fear. Worry. Social media. Information overload. Lack of connection. Lack of purpose.
Your brain doesn't exist separately from your body.
What happens emotionally can create real physiological responses.
These are the withdrawals.
Some can be reduced.
Some can be changed.
Some are completely outside your control.
That's why we also need to talk about the other side of the equation.
THE DAILY DEPOSIT METHOD
Instead of obsessing over every withdrawal, let's start intentionally making deposits.
I break them into four categories:
MOVE. FUEL. RECOVER. CONNECT.
You don't need to do every single one perfectly every day.
The objective is consistency.
Make deposits today. Make some more tomorrow. Then keep going.
DEPOSIT #1: MOVE
Your body was designed to move.
Movement isn't simply about burning calories.
Physical activity supports cardiovascular health, metabolic health, bone health, brain health, balance and overall function. It can also improve sleep quality and reduce feelings of anxiety.
Some of my favorite movement deposits include:
- Walking and accumulating approximately 7,000–10,000 steps
- Strength training
- Daily mobility
- Fascia-focused movement
- Chiropractic care
- Eye exercises
- BIG 6 lymphatic techniques
- Grounding/earthing as an outdoor routine
Don't underestimate walking.
Walk after dinner.
Walk with your spouse.
Walk with your kids.
Walk during your lunch break.
Walk outside in the morning.
If you're currently sedentary, you don't need to magically become an athlete tomorrow. Start moving more than you're moving today. Even amounts of activity below formal exercise targets can provide health benefits.
Movement is a deposit.
DEPOSIT #2: FUEL
You can't expect your body to perform, repair and recover optimally if you continually give it poor building materials.
I focus heavily on the fundamentals:
Hydration. Minerals. Protein. Nutrient-dense foods. Gut health.
My personal routine often incorporates things like mineral sea salt, electrolytes, adequate hydration and prioritizing protein.
Nutrition should also be individualized.
A food considered "healthy" doesn't automatically mean it's ideal for every individual. Depending on someone's history and symptoms, additional evaluation of digestive health, food reactions or other factors may be appropriate.
Supplements can also have a role—but they're supplements to the foundation, not replacements for it.
Depending on individual needs and guidance from an appropriate healthcare professional, examples might include:
Multivitamins, magnesium, omega-3s, vitamin D3/K2, creatine, probiotics or digestive enzymes.
Food first. Foundations first. Individualize from there.
Fuel is a deposit.
DEPOSIT #3: RECOVER
This is the category I see people neglect constantly.
People love to DO.
Work harder.
Train harder.
Push harder.
Add another workout.
Add another supplement.
Add another treatment.
Sometimes what your body needs isn't another stressor.
It needs recovery.
Some of my favorite recovery deposits include:
Quality sleep.
Breathing exercises.
Morning sunlight.
Time away from screens.
Red light therapy.
Infrared sauna.
SoftWave therapy.
Mindfulness and meditation practices may also help with perceived stress and sleep quality for some people.
This is also where we can start thinking about BioStacking.
Instead of viewing everything as an isolated treatment, we can ask:
What combination of healthy inputs makes sense for this individual and their goals?
For example:
Chiropractic + movement + sleep
or
Chiropractic + SoftWave + mobility
or
Chiropractic + red light + strength training + nutrition
The answer isn't the same for everyone.
The point isn't to throw every therapy at every person.
It's to identify what may be limiting progress and then strategically support the body from multiple angles.
Recovery is a deposit.
DEPOSIT #4: CONNECT
This may be the most overlooked deposit of all.
We're human beings.
We need connection.
Connection with God.
Connection with ourselves.
Connection with our spouse.
Connection with our children.
Connection with friends.
Connection with our community.
Connection with our purpose.
Some of my personal daily deposits include:
Prayer. Meditation. Gratitude.
But connection can also be incredibly simple.
Put your phone down.
Look someone in the eyes.
Have dinner together.
Go for a walk with your spouse.
Play with your kids.
Call your parents.
Laugh.
Love.
Serve somebody.
Do something connected to your purpose, vision and mission.
You can optimize every metric imaginable and still miss one of the most important parts of being healthy:
Actually living your life.
Connection is a deposit.
What Does Chiropractic Have to Do With This?
Chiropractic care is one component of the bigger picture.
Our goal isn't to convince you that an adjustment somehow replaces exercise, sleep, nutrition, stress management or appropriate medical care.
It doesn't.
We use chiropractic care to address the neuromusculoskeletal system—including joint function, mobility, movement and the sensory information associated with those structures.
Then we want you to take that opportunity and BUILD ON IT.
Get adjusted.
Then move.
Fuel yourself.
Recover.
Connect.
Build healthier patterns outside our four walls.
Because the few minutes you spend in our office are only a tiny fraction of your week.
What you do between visits matters.
What About SoftWave, Red Light Therapy & Infrared Sauna?
These are tools.
And tools work best when they're used for the right person, for the right reason, as part of a larger plan.
That's how I want patients thinking about our approach to BioStacking.
We're not trying to replace your body's biology.
We're trying to create an environment that supports it.
Depending on your goals and clinical situation, your plan may incorporate chiropractic care alongside technologies such as SoftWave Tissue Regeneration Therapy, red light therapy or full-spectrum infrared sauna, while we continue addressing the fundamentals at home.
Technology can be exciting.
But don't overlook the free deposits:
Walking is free.
Sunrise is free.
Breathing is free.
Prayer is free.
Gratitude is free.
Mobility is free.
Laughter is free.
Connection is free.
Those deposits matter too.
“Dr. Sam, I've Hit a Plateau. What Should I Do?”
This is where The Daily Deposit Method becomes incredibly useful.
Instead of immediately assuming something is wrong, let's take inventory.
Ask yourself:
MOVE: How much am I moving?
FUEL: How am I eating and hydrating?
RECOVER: How am I sleeping and recovering?
CONNECT: Am I making time for faith, gratitude, relationships and purpose?
Then ask:
What are my biggest withdrawals right now?
Physical?
Chemical?
Emotional?
Maybe you're doing everything right with your chiropractic care—but sleeping five hours per night.
Maybe you're training hard—but barely recovering.
Maybe your nutrition is dialed in—but you've been under enormous emotional stress.
Maybe you're exercising—but sitting another 10 hours every day.
Maybe you've been focusing entirely on your physical health while neglecting connection, purpose and emotional well-being.
The plateau itself can be an invitation to zoom out and look at the whole picture.
Your Daily Deposit Checklist
You don't need 100% every day.
Pick a few deposits and start there.
MOVE: Walk. Lift. Mobilize. Move.
FUEL: Hydrate. Minerals. Protein. Whole foods.
RECOVER: Sleep. Breathe. Get outside. Recover.
CONNECT: Pray. Practice gratitude. Love. Laugh. Be present.
Then repeat tomorrow.
Because health isn't built from one perfect Monday.
It's built from the things you do Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Week after week.
Month after month.
Year after year.
Small Deposits Compound
That's the message I want you to remember.
You don't need to overhaul your entire life tonight.
You don't need the perfect diet.
You don't need the perfect exercise program.
You don't need every supplement.
You don't need every recovery technology.
And you certainly don't need a life without stress.
You need consistency.
One walk.
One workout.
One healthy meal.
One glass of water.
One breathing session.
One prayer.
One moment of gratitude.
One meaningful conversation.
One good night's sleep.
One healthy decision followed by another.
Those deposits begin to add up.
And eventually...
Small deposits become BIG returns.
So the next time you feel stuck, frustrated or plateaued in your health journey, don't immediately ask:
“What's wrong with me?”
Ask:
“Where are my withdrawals—and what deposits can I make today?”
You can't control every withdrawal life makes.
But you can become much more intentional about your deposits.
MOVE. FUEL. RECOVER. CONNECT.
Small deposits. Made daily. Compounded for life.
HEALTH IS WEALTH.
